1157009 2010-11-28 23:07:00 Here in Greytown, Wairarapa, I have had 3 clients all reporting loss of broadband connection. One from Telstra-Clear, one Slingshot and one Compass. All contacted their ISP and all were advised to have their ADSL modem checked for possible failure. All worked fine in my workshop when configured with my Telecom login. All worked fine when running in the client's home using my Telecom login. None worked when reconfigured with their ISP's login. Talking to Chorus got an admission that perhaps jumpers on DSLAMs at the exchange were all set for Telecom - why would they do this? bb2 (11697)
1157010 2010-11-28 23:12:00 Yeah it's to be expected when they roll out an "All you can eat plan". Geez the biggest ISP in the country struggled to make it viable, yet some small-fry riding off the back of another ISP thinks they can do better? And they didn't have the foresight to get additional staff in BEFORE offering their new plans?

Morons the lot of them ...

Full marks to David Fisher for posting their CEO's Cell number. About time the ISP's upped their game and were held accountable. Nothing says incentive like that... I wonder if Mr Page has his Cell on at night, after the Slingshot Helpdesk finishes up for the day?

EDIT: I have been with Slingshot for 8 months (touchwood) so far so good, will be switching to probably Telstra/Telecom or Vodafone once the 12 months is up regardless
