1193529 2011-04-11 04:15:00 +1 for $600 ish, or possibly a little less and also for a clean windows install - let the new owners decide for themselves what they want on it. A scren KB and mouse would make it more attractive IMO.

Most of the software posted earlier is free to download and install also so no big deal there.

As for your new gear - it all looks pretty good. You should try and get RAM that is on the QVL list if possible (and no I didn't check ). Also regarding the 2600K, I chose the 2500K myself for 2 reasons, 1. it's cheaper 2. It's games performance is basically the same. Hell if you don't plan on overclocking a plain 2500 would match the performance and save you money.

The 2600 is 100Mhz faster and has hyperthreading, up to you if this is worth your money but it looks like you are building a gaming rig and hyperthreading currently has no impact on games - in fact most overclockers seem to disable it to reduce heat/ improve stability.

1193530 2011-04-11 04:32:00 ok 2 question, What is qvl and imo? OH and so which one would you choose .... intel core i7 2500k or intel i5 .........? OH and does this web have a good price?

www.newegg.com

just look for both of them, and please give me a link for a good one. plz and thanks lastly I would like to have a 4-8 core one. with a high amount of ghz, 3.2 or better

1193531 2011-04-11 04:52:00 sorry too much game chats make you a lazy typist.

IMO = in my opinion
QVL = qualified vendor list and is a list of RAM modules on the motherboard manufacturers website that have been tested to work with that particular board.

RAM not on the list will still usually work fine but has not been certified by the motherboard manufacturer.

As for CPU choice, all the reviews I have read particularly on Tom's Hardware have mentioned the i5 2500k as the best value gaming CPU with 99% same gaming performance as the i7 2600K at a much nicer price.

i7 2600K is very slightly faster but it makes no difference in games and costs a bit more.

Also the "K" versions are for overclockers, if you want this great, if not get the normal version.

So:
i5 2500 very good games CPU and cheap (3.3Ghz)
i5 2500k exactly the same but can be overclocked and costs more
i7 2600 3.4 Ghz + hyperthreading better mutlitasking and productivity in theory - no advantage to games except 0.1 Ghz
i7 2600K - overclocking version of 2600

If you have to have the best get the 2600K, if you want the best value get the 2500 or 2500K and enjoy the same games experience

maybe so - but I think Eset would still disagree with their cracked software being no big deal

1193533 2011-04-11 07:34:00 Asus Maximus IV Extreme - Terrific

MSI GeForce GTX 580 - ICK. MSI, I'd change it to ASUS or Gigabyte.

8GB Kit (4GBx2), Ballistix - Fine

COOLER MASTER HAF X - Fine

Intel Core i7-2600K - Great
