How much memory do you have?
Which version of Opera are you using?

[CTRL+SHIFT+ESC] to get TaskMan, sort it by memory, see what's hogging memory & CPU.

[CTRL] +[SHIFT] + [ESC] will open up Task Manager, in one of the tabs it will show you which processes are running and how much memory & CPU they are using .
In another tab it'll show how much memory and virtual memory you have . Or right click on My Computer and go to properties, it'll show there .

Opera has a tendency to be a memory whore and I suspect it might be what's slowing you down if it's fine after a reboot, but it could be any number of other processes that are running on your system . So it would be nice to have a look in taskman and see what's draining your resources .

1193077 2011-04-09 11:15:00 Hi Beet - dumped Zonealarm years ago because of similar problems. I do use TeaTimer.

You know enough not to need ZA, and you know where to come for help. :D Certainly children will innocently download stuff but that's life and you just get rid of it with weekly spyware scans.

1193078 2011-04-09 12:18:00 when i refreshed this page it only took 50 seconds to load .

so no its not fixed, just better . . . . . . . . .

i get back to you tomorow . . . . . . .

so ya think i shouldnt use ZA? what about Avast? i wont use any bought progs, cos its money down the drain for me . :p

when i opened task manager 37 processors running . . .

sigh . . . . . . . . . . . . . everything is so slow and freezes at odd times . maybe we just need to a major clean out . . . . must be getting old and tired now my poor comp . . . . . . :D

Again, one last time, how much memory is Opera using? And how much do you have?
