| 1192779 | 2011-04-07 07:20:00 | Hi all, I lost my sound on my laptop a few days ago and have tried everything to fix it but no such luck, it must be hardware problem. I went to a computor shop this morning and explained what was going on, the shop assistant said i need usb speakers [ she wasn't to good with her english though or i might be hard to understand ] anyway i took these speakers home and 1 USB leed went into usb socket, but there was another leed that went into the front little hole on the laptop. Turned it on and still nothing, is there anyway around this to get some sound again, really appreciate any help. thanks |

| 1192784 | 2011-04-07 07:43:00 | Well must be in the bios somewhere under audio. I see you've posted in the toshiba forum about this. And they say it maybe a hardware prob. And did you try restoring the system like they said? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1192785 | 2011-04-07 07:48:00 | I didn't get a recovery disc with this, as i brought it second hand. | Tomy101 (12106) | ||

| 1192787 | 2011-04-07 07:59:00 | Well, if the soundcard IS screwed as you thought USB speaker will not fix the problem. the "little hole at the front" as a 3.5mm Headphone jack. Its what the sound comes from if you plug your headphones in and that sound comes from the soundcard too. What would fix the problem is a USB soundcard. Its possible that the soundcard might be fixable. Get speedy to check with teamviewer (the remote control thing) if you (and speedy) want to also Just double check you have not plugged the USB speaker into the microphone slot, try the one next to it. |
