| 1192670 | 2011-04-07 01:14:00 | Hi all, I setup a VPN to allow an incoming connection on my home vista desktop machine. On my laptop I created a VPN Connection in windows 7 to connect to my desktop's VPN. I setup a dyndns account with the auto dns updater on the vista machine so the ip address is automatically updated to the hostname if the IP happens to change. I connected to my neighbours wireless connection and could connect to the VPN fine, but whenever I go anywhere else it will not connect. I get Error 800. Could someone please explain why? and how I can fix this. Thanks |

| 1192673 | 2011-04-07 02:50:00 | Try this first: Set them both down on the same LAN Setup a new LAN-specific VPN connection Does that work? If so, then Erro 800 is relating to either the firewall of your own internet router, or the router your laptop is behind when trying to connect. Unfortunately some cheaper gear doesn't play nice with PPTP VPN connections. |
