1193791 2011-04-12 08:40:00 The IT Manager is leasing a laptop and needs to uninstall some programs completely. Therefore, what would you think be the best uninstall program? bot (15449)
1193792 2011-04-12 08:48:00 Best way = Reformat the HDD :p

RevoUninstaller is quite good at getting rid of the folders, registry entries and other relevant program files.

I suggested that but I think they would notice... :p

I was considering that, but I was wondering how good it was. BTW he wants every trace of the programs removed.

1193794 2011-04-12 09:05:00 If hes the IT Manager he should be able to handle a manual registry clean. DeSade (984)

Well that's the problem - he's more of a systems admin and just lets New Era IT (http://www.newerait.co.nz/) (our IT contractor) fix network problems.

Though we're changing that.

Soon.

1193796 2011-04-12 09:19:00 Then do it yourself, or ask someone on here to do it for you, there are plenty of F1'ers over the country, I am sure at least one is close to you. DeSade (984)
1193797 2011-04-12 09:39:00 Personal preference:

1 . Revo uninstaller portable - that way you dont have to install it, simply carry on a pendrive . (the other you need to install)
2 . Iobit uninstaller - Takes longer, to remove items, but that "maybe" because its more indepth -- Dunno .

It does have different sections to remove programs, where as revo just shows everything in one big window .

I have had Iobit hang and lock up a few times, where as revo just gets on with it .

OK, I will give revo a go .

Thanks for your suggestions

1193799 2011-04-12 14:15:00 +1 for Revo Uninstaller (use the advanced uninstall option and don't click on reboot the PC now if that comes up as alot of programme uninstallers will reboot before the Revo Uninstaller has done its magic). :) GavRoars (16046)
