Was recently enlisted to do some work on a friends acer aspire 3050. I added 2gb of ram, and did a general cleanup and disabled startup items via msconfig, now when i restart, it seems the touchpad doesn't respond on the welcome screen. It works in safe mode, and in Ubuntu 10.10 live, so Ive established its not a hardware fault. (i thought i might have knocked something when i was adding RAM). Ive removed the synaptics software/driver and reinstalled but to no avail. Its not disabled, Ive checked using the fn+f7 keys, and pretty much tried anything else. I cant exactly return the system to my friend like this, what can i do? |
