1157501 2010-11-30 04:48:00 It' so annoying when you see people who say there gfx card is amazing and will run absolutely everything because it is a 2gb card were as a 768mb GDDR5 460 GeForce would blow the crap out of it. I have friends who think that memory size is more important than the graphics core on the card. I hate people who are like that. Anyone else found any "amazingly talented" computer users <insert slight hint of sarcasm> who believe the same thing? icow (15313)
1157502 2010-11-30 05:02:00 Yep. They have Macs. ;) R2x1 (4628)

1157504 2010-11-30 05:12:00 Yeah, there are a bunch of them. I don't find them irritating unless they insist on their little theory (memory size = better performance) even when told otherwise.

But then again, any 2GB cards will certainly eat any GTX 460 768MBs lol....the 2GB cards I can think of are the likes of 4850x2, 4870x2, 5870 and 5970.....any of which will eat even a GTX470.

1157505 2010-11-30 05:56:00 Pretty much every customer that comes in the shop looking at graphics cards thinks the same thing.
After a quick chat they soon change their view :D

1157506 2010-11-30 06:29:00 They're not really much different from the folks who always want the latest OS, and the latest Office suite... for no other reason than 'its new'.

Oops - now that's a lot of the folks in here.
Sure, the techs have every reason to be familiar with what they're selling, but frankly, what good reasons exist for Joe average to migrate from say office 2003 to the latest? Or from Win XP to Win 7?

1157507 2010-11-30 06:35:00 Yeah get that all the time ------- I have 500GB or 1TB of memory in the PC.

They call the HDD memory.

Just the other week I was at a place, the guy was going on (showing off) in front of some friends saying I had installed 1TB of memory just a few weeks back, now they have lots of space.

Yeahhhhh Yeahhhhhh yeahhhhhh <Sigh> :groan: One of the other guys just looked at me smiled and gave the crazy sign pointing behind his back--- Sh1t it was hard to keep a straight face.

1157508 2010-11-30 06:36:00 Me and my dad both have ATI Radeon 9600's in our computers.

Mine is 128mb.

his is 256mb and connects to the power supply.

Guess which ones better?
It proves that bigger memory size does not always mean better performance.

hell, his card has trouble running runescape! lmfao

That's exactly what has happened.
