1158068 2010-12-03 18:13:00 So I have not really dug into this story or read most the posts but heres my point of view and no personal attacks please for the view.

If the information being leaked is of a nature that could cause a danger to national security or paranoid fear of the unknown of such information i.e National security that a foreign power could use to harm a countrys defenses then yes it should be plugged. However this information could still get into their hands in other ways. So catch 222 the important thing is though is it right to risk many lives because of loose lips? Remember the saying looose lips sinks ships used in past wars? Welcome 21st century version!

Camoron Slater yet another example! And yes even these internet chat forums are expressions of freedom of speech but can harm.
Although some of the hardline moderation on some forums keeps the views in check. So really freedom of speech is limited to what you control on the internet!

I got mixed views on this as I know the internet can be a powerful tool to use however there are bigger tools who are on the internet who will counter your arguements everytime (watch this space), but crossing the line to expose Goverment information thats can affect national security in any nation is as far as I am concerned a no no if we want to keep our freedom.

1158070 2010-12-03 23:54:00 Government agency warns employees that looking at Wikileaks could be a criminal offense

Progressive Review - At least one government agency- The Social Security Administration - is warning employees that even browsing Wikileaks could be a criminal offense. The Review has revceived a copy of an email sent to staffers with the subject line, "Information Security Bulletin: WIKILEAKS." Here's the threat:

"Earlier this year a large amount of United States government classified information was illegally released to the public website WIKILEAKS. The documents on WIKILEAKS could place military personnel and United States supporters in Iraq and Afghanistan at an increased risk of harm.

"Despite these documents being publicly accessible over the internet, the documents remain classified and SSA employees should not access, download, or transmit them. Individuals may be subject to applicable federal criminal statutes for unlawful access to or transmission of classified information."

1158071 2010-12-04 05:48:00 If you don't want it to get out then don't write or record it. Spoken word is very hard to prove. I agree with coldfront if it affects national security or puts lives at risk then no it shouldn't be released. However you do need to closely look at the way Germany controlled the media during the war with its propaganda campaigns gary67 (56)
1158072 2010-12-04 06:29:00 I'd like a world that didn't tolerate secrets and lies, so I'm glad to see the biggest manipulator of them all coping some embarrasment.

Pity it's Bush's actions that Obama will have to deal with. The mud will splash where it doesn't belong.

1158073 2010-12-04 06:36:00 Why are the Americans trying to stop fellow Americans knowing what's going on?
You can be sure that foreign elements have grabbed a copy pretty much immediately, so what's the problem with letting your own citizens in on the secret which is no longer a secret?

On the other hand, this would be one hell of a 'honey pot' to see which countries are desperately trying to read it all ASAP. Perhaps it's a ploy to finally track down Bin Laden.
You can bet that between the DDOS attacks they're also doing their very best to discover which IPs are accessing the data.

So next question is... will Google cache it all and honestly report it in searches?

1158074 2010-12-04 06:48:00 Well I would not want him to scream for the thread to be closed so I don't want to give an opinion and get him all upset.

I agree one must scream loud and long for the thread to be closed ,this according to the great king kahuna zippo will fix all the problems in the world.

1158075 2010-12-04 08:50:00 Prefect - you are making it personal again and your line of argument (if you can call it that) adds nothing to this discussion.

Now please be a good little girl and go back and play in your sand box :)

Hmmmm. I was not aware this was a debate ( argument ).

If so then where is your evidence for intimating the CIA etc is involved in some manner as you said earlier?

"Don't you think that it is the CIA and other internal operatives that are behind the Interpol krap?"

I might add that quoting chunks of text without crediting or mentioning the source as you have done in earlier posts does nothing to help either.

Also it has to be said that when people resort to name calling like referring to Prefect as a girl then if there ever was a debate then I'm sorry to say you have lost it.

So I ask once again. Where is your evidence that involves the CIA and who are the other internal operatives?

1158077 2010-12-04 10:21:00 Back off and go away.

Did you even read perfects post?

I didn't start the personal attack.
