| 1157931 | 2010-12-06 04:01:00 | most tiles don't crack from the drilling. they crack from the pressure of the mounts on the tiles. just drilling holes in tiles is not mounting it properly. the big problem is that tiles are not made to support that amount of loading. tv aerials you can get away with, sat dishes are a whole lot different. |

For an old setup I had once I put the dish on a post, wiring went into the back sheds to a DVR PC I had setup. content was streamed over a fiber LAN (my neighborer was a fiber technician who lent us the gear, then he moved :( ) then the PCI tuner broke and we moved. could't be bothered. Lived without a TV for 10 years now. |

Yep drill thru tile and a roof support, just mounting the frame on tiles will end in tears. |

Live without a TV - SHEESH :illogical:illogical:illogical:illogical its not that bad, Read, hunt, fish, build, explode stuff. then I got a laptop and broadened my skills. part of the problem now is school. Can't hunt and build too much at keale, except 3rd form traps. Cunning little tykes. Got a TV now though, 32'' LCD. used only for 360 and computer. TV sucks. too many ads cr*p shows. you need pay TV and i'm too cheap for that, hence the internets invention. Some movies are worth buying, inception and A-team were on my sack up and buy list. |

| 1157940 | 2010-12-08 09:21:00 | Fair enough but how do sky do it on a tile roof? the tiles crack and split, sky replaces tiles, bills contractor for the repair then tells them to install it on the tiles again :badpc: installer refuses to install it so they give the job to a more micky mouse contractor along with 1st installers work. |
