1158246 2010-12-03 19:01:00 Yeah but you sell the 100 they have in stock at the non discounted price and you're made for the rest of your life... porkster (6331)
1158247 2010-12-03 21:38:00 Quite like the look of the Apad 2 now to find one in Nelson so I can go and try it out gary67 (56)
1158248 2010-12-05 05:10:00 Yeah they were, but the Apad II (Haipad M701-R) is leagues ahead!

And who sells those?

Any review you would suggest reading?

1158249 2010-12-05 07:51:00 Tried one of those, they are pretty average.

For a mere $150 we should not expect top performance.
If it would allow me to check email via WIFI, I would be satisfied.

1158250 2010-12-05 09:40:00 Well both the Apad and Apad II do that. I've got both, what do you wanna know ? Chilling_Silence (9)
1158251 2010-12-05 20:08:00 How is the on screen keyboard - easy to use?

What would a more expensive unit offer (other than better build quality)?
Strommer (42)
1158252 2010-12-05 21:20:00 Yeah maybe a better / glass screen?
On-screen keyboard if anything I found was a pain, I liked it in Portrait mode coz I can still two-thumb type. Not a fan of a full landscape keyboard.

Better unit would have more RAM / CPU, but the Apad II does surprisingly well. The original Apad that PBTech sold wouldn't multitask to save itself though...

It runs at the same resolution as the Nexus One and the Samsung Galaxy Tab, so there's no shortage of apps. Apparently Android-2.2 has just been released for it also!

1158253 2010-12-05 21:34:00 Thanks Chill.

Would I be correct to say that a Samsung Galaxy would be a better deal compared to the Apad-II as it is about the same (?) price with a better build quality?

1158254 2010-12-06 02:20:00 Apad II = ~$300+GST
Galaxy Tab = ~$900+GST

Are we comparing apples with apples?
