1158038 2010-12-02 06:11:00 I won't be surprised if Julian Assage "disappears" sometime in the next few months. somebody (208)
1158039 2010-12-02 06:18:00 I find this whole leaks no big deal. The stuff that has come out was basically common knowledge.. Though the guy that gave the stuff to WikiLeaks he's a different story.. paulw (1826)
1158040 2010-12-02 07:17:00 I think it's good. Governments expect us to tell the truth and then want to keep their own hidden secrets. I reckon it's pretty funny.

Mmm.....? Imagine saying something personal in an email about a friend/employer/neighbour and then seeing it on the net!

Are government representatives not allowed to have privacy? Can they never make frank comment?

While I think the leaks are mildly interesting, as a matter of principle they shouldn't occur.

If by frank you mean derogatory, then you should be prepared to pay as consequence, if found out .

1158043 2010-12-02 07:33:00 WikiLeaks is just confirming what many would have suspected....rampant government internal corruption, shady dealings between countries and banks, etc.....

Something you would never show to aliens wanting to destroy humanity on the basis of our greed and selfishness.

1158044 2010-12-02 18:45:00 I think it's wrong for the Wikileaks guy to take the moral high ground here - some of the stuff he published may yet result in loss of lives. I would have no problem if they lock him up and throw the keys away. Some things I really do not want to know about - unstable Iran as an example, with their suggested nuclear arsenal.

1158045 2010-12-02 18:59:00 "Those who have done nothing wrong have nothing to fear"

Isn't that the cry of do-gooders when the government(s) want information about the people?

1158046 2010-12-02 19:07:00 Where is the poll?, oh, the answer IMO is right! SolMiester (139)
1158047 2010-12-02 19:09:00 If anyone's up for a formal debate on this I'm a starter; somehow these never seem to get off the ground, and this looks like a great topic :D.

Always keen :D

My thoughts: If somebody in a position of power is going to say something they wouldn't want repeated, then they shouldn't be saying it in the first place!
Why? Well think about it, if they wouldn't want it repeated for the world to hear, it's obviously wrong on some level. It's part of the price you pay for being in a position of leadership / power, you have to lead an exemplary life. Don't like the heat? Get out of the fire ...
