1193849 2011-04-12 20:35:00 Last night SWMBO tried to use our printer (Pixma MP140) on my lappie. The printer has not been "installed" on it, it was recognised and did everything needed by right-clicking and selecting. The installation disk, however, did not want to run, and I thought it strange. Any known issues with Win 7 you know of?

1193850 2011-04-12 23:16:00 You may find the default windows drivers are not installed correctly - either go here to canons site (www.usa.canon.com) and download the correct drivers or open the printers folder - start - on the right device and printers, OR from the control panel Devices and printers - there should be a unknown device or the printer with a warning on it, right click, Trouble shoot - and it will go looking for drivers ( may take a while) then install them . wainuitech (129)

1193852 2011-04-13 00:26:00 Windows 7 probably just usued generic drivers for the printer....its good like that...however your install CD probably didnt run as it doesnt have Win7 drivers...Unless you need other printer features you should be good to go.....If you do need scanning etc, get the correct drivers here, BUT as staed, remember to disconnect the printer BEFORE installing

Edit - didnt check drivers already linked...sorry!
