1195626 2011-04-19 09:33:00 Hi all I have a Acer Aspire 4741G that i am trying to setup as dual boot win7 and xp pro. I have both os's and got xp pro installed and have got most of the drivers off the acer site.

support.acer.com

But I need video drivers as all the ones I have tryed on there are saying not surported and need vista or win7 even when i select windows xp pro at the top of the page.

NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 320M CUDA 1GB

I installed the audio driver and have got sound but there is still some audio thing needed. I think the VGA driver has some sound driver files with it as i seen a sounds folder in the win7 drivers.

Any help would be mint.

1195627 2011-04-19 10:55:00 Have you tried using that hardware vendor detection utility on the download page? feersumendjinn (64)
1195628 2011-04-19 11:09:00 I think this is a common problem with laptops with switchable graphics: the graphics driver doesn't support Windows XP.

There's someone else who has a Lenovo Ideapad Y460, who can't get graphics to work on XP, and he didn't seem to notice this as a problem.

So, unfortunately, you might be out of luck... for a while at least.

p.s. Just out of interest, why do you keep two Windows? Because when I have two Windows, I end up leaving one deserted (which is usually XP).

support.acer.com
(It's for ATI graphics, but I'd assume NVIDIA should work similarly).

NOTE: BEFORE flashing BIOS, check whether you already have the option available in BIOS. Also, flashing BIOS has quite a bit of risk involved (just want to point that out to you).

Yeh that only lets you knw a couple of brands of the parts in your pc. ie. camera, wireless...
