| 1195066 | 2011-04-17 00:57:00 | Greetings folks. I've decided to buy an i5 2500k cpu, Now I need a motherboard. Needs to be a reasonable brand (Asus or Gigabyte preferably), It won't be used for overclocking,No igp required, audio chip set is unimportant, Needs to be able to accept 8GB of ram but otherwise only a basic feature set required. Budget is under $200, the cheaper the better. System is to be used as a gaming/media rig hooked up to a HD 32" LCD television, running a 4850 video card, Video and audio output will be via HDMI. |

| 1195071 | 2011-04-17 11:51:00 | For a moment there I thought the 2500k referred to the price rather than the model number - not exactly hard to believe, if it's from Intel | Agent_24 (57) | ||
| 1195072 | 2011-04-23 23:05:00 | I think I maybe making this into a bigger job then it needs to be.:lol: Im torn between spending the extra coin on the P67 chipset, Its the better gear, but I don't overclock, having said that, the included VGA on the H67 boards just gives me the shits. anyhow. | 1195073 | 2011-04-23 23:41:00 | I wouldnt go with the ASUS boards at the moment, lots of issues from the boys in the states....even gigabyte boards are not popular with P67, in fact, gigabyte have stopped P67 chipset boards and are now doing the new chipset Z68.... I have no problems with the ASRock board and ASRock have extended the warranty out to 2 yrs.... |
