| 1159763 | 2010-12-08 02:40:00 | Son bought one as soon as he got his licence (because he can't be bothered reading maps) and I am surprised at the abysmal pronunciation of Maori street names. Two really bad examples are Tui Street, which comes out as T-U-I Street and Pupuke Road which comes out as Poo Puke Road (maybe the programmer had a nappy problem). Is this par for the course for all NAVMANs, or do some models do better? Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 1159764 | 2010-12-08 02:42:00 | Pretty typical. I use a somethingorother 30 (think the model before the MY) and it struggles a bit with some maori pronunciation. Don't really see it as being an issue. | wratterus (105) | ||

| 1159767 | 2010-12-08 03:19:00 | We have a garmin and the navigator is obviously Australian. Nothing against that, however, like you have found, Billy the pronunciation of some names, including Maori, leaves a lot to be desired. I am not expecting perfection, but some are way off the beam. | Marnie (4574) | ||
