1159301 2010-12-11 00:42:00 I dont believe in luck. One of the biggest walls on the path to finding work is lack of experience. Some people just dont have any. To counter that, you need to be confident and composed, especially at an interview... You need to do whatever the **** it takes to make the employer realise that you are committed to working hard and being reliable.

Luck does play some part, but not always. Several years ago when my cousin, a uni student, wanted a holiday job, There was one going at the local hospital (a menial one, but all part of the 'chain'). There were many applicants, most stating how the felt the call of Florence Nightingale etc etc. Cousin said "I was stumped, so I just told them I was broke and needed the job". She was successful.

1159305 2010-12-12 02:04:00 In a hundred years, chances are, we will all be dead.

So fate will deal to you as it will.

With luck, kindly.

1159308 2010-12-16 06:50:00 Keep calling, you never know, remember, a manager is very busy this time of year, maybe he hasnt got around to it, or possibly has no intention of hiring you BUT keep trying anyway because he could be short a worker on a busy evening and call you to fill in, and theres your two feet in the door
