2010-12-13 20:57:00 | Noise. Stabilises. Since when? Yeah I never really understood that either. I think it means that the router will connect at a slower speed because of the noise, and slower speeds are inherently more stable.

2010-12-13 23:43:00 | Is the noise consistent or only 'introduced' during the negotiation and authentication? | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2010-12-13 23:49:00 | As I understand the explanation (which was a little over my head!!) the noise is consistent and stabilises the connection (but potentially - not my experience - lowers the download speed by a small margin). However I have noticed that I am still getting disconnects - albeit not as many - so when he does the follow-up call tonight, it will be interesting to see what the next step is.

2010-12-14 00:46:00 | You mean you don't have remote access to your router? My goodness, some people ... :p | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2010-12-14 01:02:00 | Can't say I really NEED it (not that that has ever been a reason not to get something), although I could have done with a VPN link to my PC at home today, for an entirely different reason!!! | johcar (6283) | |
