1159845 2010-12-08 05:47:00 So is it the ask toolbar or the search engine. There's a diff. If its the toolbar, did you close FF before you uninstalled it?

Seems to be, it got rid of tool bar but not search engine.

In IE you can delete it in tools.

Looked in CCleaner, but no sign of ASK in remove area.

1159850 2010-12-08 06:19:00 Download and Run the portable version Of Revo Uninstaller (www.softpedia.com) - Make sure you use the advanced mode, as it will pick up close to 170+ Reg keys and a load of hidden folders as well.

These days, if you upgrade Foxit Reader, it will put it in by default, even if you use the custom options and untick it, it will still install, as well as putting it in FF.

Thats the first thing I do when installing Foxit Reader - remove Askbar after wards.

IF it still wont come out of FF, you need to uninstall FF, then reinstall it to completely remove Askbar.

1159853 2010-12-08 17:56:00 Downloaded that, but I can't see Ask in the list they provide and if I ask it to find Ask, it totaly ignores me, worse than my wife.

Will CC Cleaner work on his wife?
