| 1196649 | 2011-04-23 08:41:00 | I have tried to make bootable Linux USB drive. Have the USB drive with Ubuntu netbook ready. How do I get the netbook to boot from the USB drive? |

A better tool is called Unetbootin (http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/) - this does not format the pen drive and can be installed in either Linux or MS Windows. |

| 1196653 | 2011-04-23 13:58:00 | As said in post 9 you need to make the USB drive bootable, by using that program; just copying a Linux distro ISO file to the drive will not work, you need to effectively "burn" the data to the USB drive (tho it's not permanent), like burning a cd/dvd from an ISO using Nero or similar. | feersumendjinn (64) | ||

I'm well aware of that. All I want to know is how to boot the USB drive on start up. |

| 1196656 | 2011-04-24 10:56:00 | Create the pen drive again - I have seen this happen where everything seems to be correct but it just won't boot. Repeating the process is worth a try. | johnd (85) | ||
