| 1196553 | 2011-04-23 01:13:00 | Selfish PC/Laptop Hi,going more grey be the minute, I'm trying to get my laptop and PC to share music/video etc but they refuse and bring up a 'Enter Network Password' and require a user name and password. Both have fresh installs of Windows 7 64 bit and to my knowledge I haven't set a password for it. I know the log on to the router and have set up a homegroup password both of which fail to excite the enter network password field. Any ideas will be gratefully tried. regards |

| 1196554 | 2011-04-23 01:36:00 | Disable protected password sharing on both under network and sharing. Whatever its called in Win7 | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

Take note of teh bottom one especially, that's whats asking for the password. Also make sure sharing is enabled fully in the shared folder - right click it, properties - Sharing - Click Share button, in the drop down window, select Everyone - click add, change permissions to Read write if you want to allow control, click Share - Done. Next Advanced Sharing / Share this folder - Permissions - put ticks under allow. Actually made a real rough Video a while back - Sharing folders W7 (www.youtube.com) |
