2011-04-22 09:31:00 | Don’t know quite what’s happened here but I can’t get streaming audio from a radio station using Firefox anymore, however IE is fine? It used to work fine on Firefox but doesn’t now and on three different machines. I thought it might have been Adblock, but turning that off didn’t help. Any suggestions anyone? :thanks

2011-04-22 21:15:00 | I had no problem with the link in IE9. I tried the link in Firefox 3.6.10 and it did not work. A bar appeared saying that there is a missing plugin. FF is not my usual browser.

2011-04-22 21:26:00 | Firefox IS the problem, well maybe not 100% - To use it in Firefox you have to install the Windows media plugin (www.radionetwork.co.nz) - see top sentence. Then once you install it, there can still be problems - See high lighted area on site (plugindoc.mozdev.org) -- I have it installed and the radio still doesn't work in Firefox, even after un-installing it, and putting in a fresh one, all in the correct locations. I'm using W7 and that has WMP 12. Earlier versions may still work. The plug in is way behind by the looks of it. Suggestion: use IE or just about any other browser - its better than having to muck about with Firefox that requires plug-ins for everything to work, or you need plug-ins to allow other plug-ins to work :waughh: :illogical where other browsers work by default -- Even Opera worked perfectly with no additional "tweaking" Firefox is turning to crap - fast.

2011-04-22 22:04:00 | To follow on from above -- Why cant Firefox get their crap together - this is the problem with all these plug-ins, so many different people making different versions and nothing but problems. This one (www.interoperabilitybridges.com) - installed it, still wont work, and screen shot below for another :groan: | wainuitech (129) | |
2011-04-22 22:23:00 | Thanks Guys. That explains it. Coast has changed something so youre tied to Windows Media Player. It used to work fine, but someone has been fiddling, which I suspected when it didnt work on three different computers using Firefox. Well, I only have MP9 which came with Windows XP and I sure arent going to install MP11 after the trouble it caused me when I installed it to try and get Media Portal to work. I also use VLC as my default media player. Anyway, it works with IE6 and Ill use that if I want to listen to some decent music whilst in Aussie. Aussie Radio Stations are nothing short of appalling. And I agree Wainui, Firefox is taking giant steps backwards.
