1196028 2011-04-21 00:24:00 Hey Everyone.

Is there a way that I could text someone that is on 2Degrees or Vodafone by email?

Thanks :)

1196029 2011-04-21 00:46:00 Yep - pretty much every SMS gateway provider has an email-based product.

An example is www.txtmail.co.nz Note that txtmail is intended for full domains rather than a single email address, but there are plenty of products available that don't have this restriction.

1196031 2011-04-21 01:00:00 Mmm, Skype isn't an email-based product though, which is what the OP was asking for. Erayd (23)
1196032 2011-04-21 03:14:00 Would it cost money. And how do I send the text?

:pf1mobmini:Yes, almost all such services cost money. And you send sms messages by emailing the gateway.

Yeah:

"Note: TXTmail doesn't work with public mail servers like Hotmail, or generic ISP email addresses such as you@clear.net or you@paradise.net."

I don't see why ISPs don't just have this as an add-on service to your Internet bill, or even just free, like email.
