1161226 2010-12-12 22:40:00 At 2.5% that is not that bad is it? for the SSDs that is
10% is unacceptable

1161228 2010-12-12 23:43:00 I wonder when the stats were taken, because when SSD 1st came out their were a number of issues. SolMiester (139)
1161229 2010-12-12 23:46:00 These days, I wont touch the WD Black.

Out of the last 6 that I have had in new builds 4 have failed within a few weeks, or started making " strange" noises from day 1, and got RMAed - replaced by request with Blues, they are a lot more reliable.

1161230 2010-12-12 23:51:00 The WD2001FASS, with the near 10% failure rate, is NOT an SSD, it is a standard Caviar Black edition mechanical drive. We've had numerous troubles with them, so I've been sticking with Seagate, or WD Blue, or recently even trying some of the Samsung Spinpont F3's. inphinity (7274)
1161231 2010-12-13 01:30:00 Well that just proves what I always thought.

2TB drives are still the most unreliable and SSDs are still more unreliable than HDDs in general.

I wouldn't want to go near a 3TB drive.

Perhaps in some years the 2TB will become more reliable but for now I will stick to late-model 1TB and lower.

Hmmmm, i didnt see any stats for this!...links please and just remember that SSD are new tech, so I would of expected some teething problems.

1161233 2010-12-13 03:03:00 Says so in the article:

"If we had graphed the 1TB disk drive failure rates these would have shown seven disk drive products failing less often than the worst SSD"

1161234 2010-12-13 03:13:00 I have a 640GB WD Black. Hopefully it's just affecting the 2TB ones..... qazwsxokmijn (102)
