1161463 2010-12-15 06:44:00 My folks live about half way between Hythe and Ashford. I know Folkestone well since My Gran and my brother lived there and I studied there. I know all of Romney marsh well especially Dymchurch.

Did you ever swim out to the Mulberry harbour at New Romney? Left over from the war they were towed across for D day to make temporary harbours but these ones broke their tow and ended up where they are

No, but we did re-enact Dunkirk at Camber which is, I think, where they shot the film.

We had a scout master called Wicki (surname Wickins) - at the time he seemed to us to know an awful lot - I wondered what happened to him! It also made for some interesting rhymes when sing "The Quartermaster's Stores" round the campfire!

1161467 2010-12-15 20:03:00 Scientists supporting the alternative multiregional hypothesis argue that Homo sapiens evolved as geographically separate but interbreeding populations stemming from a worldwide migration of Homo erectus out of Africa nearly 2.5 million years ago. Ex Wicki.

Thank heavens the interbreeding populations were not overrun by Homo Impotentus or we'd have been in real deep doodoo!

Cheers
