1196456 2011-04-23 01:02:00 I went into Kubuntu to test things. FireFox 3.6.13 would not play Coast but when I loaded it into the ReKong browser it worked.

I am in Kubuntu now..

1196460 2011-04-23 02:07:00 Tried Firefox 3.6.16 (in W7), asked for install of WMP plugin, did that (but said on webpage that the plugin applied only for XP and Vista), didn't work; tried IE9, worked (after clicking requester to unblock IE9 in Windows Firewall! :horrified:groan:). feersumendjinn (64)

1196462 2011-04-23 02:50:00 Using XP and FF 3.6.11. I have Windows Media Player Plug-In dynamic link library installed in FF (npdsplay.dll version 3.0.2.629). This file is in c:\ProgramFiles\Windows Media Player folder (WMP9)

Coast FM streams fine.

Thanks rumpty, that got me thinking.

Well I don’t know what had happened here BUT after reading above I thought I’d try reinstalling the Plug-In. All went fine and it came up with a notice asking me if I wished to remove the WMP Plug-In or repair it. So I chose Repair and it’s all working again.

I then went to second computer and the same, it’s all working again. The third computer is wife’s laptop and as far as she’s concerned it isn’t broken so I’m not fixing it. :D

On reflection, I think what may have happened is when Firefox has been updated from 3.? To 3.6 the WMP Plug-In has been corrupted and needed reinstallation.

Seeing I only use the streaming when I’m travelling I hadn’t noticed it wasn’t working after one of the upgrades.

Anyway, all fixed and a big :thanks everyone.

No. Far from it. Merely an observation.

Some posters here are FOREVER trying to bag the "other" programme or ISP.

I often wonder if in fact they haven't just got their own setups out of kilter.

I often wonder if in fact they haven't just got their own setups out of kilter. That also swings the other way ;) SOME posters insist that one particular program or ISP is "the" one to have, and every thing else is rubbish or bad.

Personally I have had so many complaints from customers regarding Firefox4, with crashing, lock ups or other dislikes. In fact I have lost count of the number of calls and jobs I have had to remove it and put back an earlier version.

On our PC's here - the daily used ones, all have / or Had FF4, on two its fine, on the other two - FF4 causes so many problems it was removed, an earlier version installed and it works OK. Nothing wrong with the setups, just FF4 caused problems - all other browsers and programs work fine. (meaning Opera & IE & Chrome)
