We live in a country where you get free money to spend on beer, cigarettes, SkyTV etc for sitting around doing nothing, and then get to complain to the media that you can't afford to buy shoes for your kids. |

You got experiance of any overseas social welfare systems to be able to make such a comment of New Zealand being a free hand out country? |

Not first hand, but I have relatives living in countries where there is no such thing as the unemployment benefit. If you don't work, you don't earn money, you don't eat. Here, while a lot of people are claiming welfare assistance for legitimate reasons - i.e. they've recently lost their job, suffered a crippling accident etc. - the fact that our welfare system allows generations of families to get away with never working a day in their lives shows that something is very wrong with the system. |

Be hard pressed to disagree with this |

True that. In addition, student allowance is considered to be largely unheard of in other countries. |
