| 1195878 | 2011-04-20 10:14:00 | Hi All. As some of you know I attempt to write childrens books. My method is to scribble words onto a lined A4 pad & then type them into MS word document. Two finger typing. I believe there are programmes where one can scan a written page & have it convertd to Type. I think this is OCR. Is there a good freeware program that will convert pretty bad Printing, not 'joined writing' accurately? PJ |

| 1195881 | 2011-04-20 10:32:00 | Start Here ( www.cvisiontech.com) PJ. You should find something usable, but you will have to train it. On that front I think it might be more efficient to write out lower case and upper case alphabets and get it to recognise those first before it starts on real words and sentences. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 1195882 | 2011-04-20 10:37:00 | I see PJ has a multi-function printer/copier/scanner unit; Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software is often supplied with these to enable the scanner to "read" usually mainly printed material, probably wont work well with handwriting (unless things have advanced since I last used a scanner). :2cents: | feersumendjinn (64) | ||
