1160858 2010-12-12 03:29:00 This game was on the last PC World disk. Has anybody installed it successfully? Is it worth having another go at? When I tried to install it, all I got was something called Steam, which proved to be very uncooperative. Are there any secrets or shortcuts if I try again? :help: Richard (739)

Got rid of MW2 on the PC because steam just annoyed me that much.

1160862 2010-12-13 00:24:00 Steam lmao. Bet it's still the same BS as when I used it a few years back --Wolf-- (128)
1160863 2010-12-13 01:26:00 Yeah Steam is a hideous piece of junk.

If you want to play the game without Steam, pirate it. Then you won't get immensely pissed off by Steam(ing pile of ****)

Not that I am saying anyone should be pirating anything, just that it's the only way to play the game without it.

1160864 2010-12-13 01:49:00 Steam is basically a store that allows you to permanently rent games (not buy them - there's a distinction because if you violate Steam's ToS they can suspend your account and you won't be able to play any of your games). Lots of companies are now releasing games linked to Steam and you have to have an internet connection running to play them even if they're single player (so they can confirm it's not pirated). It's annoying. And too bad because Civ V is a really good game. Siobhan Keogh (16063)
