1197973 2011-04-28 12:24:00 Several months ago I started the following thread - =http://pressf1.co.nz/showthread.php?t=115269&page=2
Tonight I went to the thread to append a belated thank you but found it was closed, hence this thread. So, thank you again to all who replied. Assisted by your help and suggestions I set up a system which is working well - Orcon Plus, 5GB with a Netcomm NB6Plus4W modem/router. Setup was pretty much a breeze. This modem has the advantage of a USB port (the NB6Plus4Wn doesn't) which I plan to use in a LAN so that both computers can share the printer directly without the present fag of having to swap over the USB cables to achieve this. We are about 1Km (as the crow flies, and probably not much further in cable length) from our exchange and get around 13mbps. The only disappointing feature is that the wireless signal in the basement (1 floor down from the router, only wooden walls) is rather flakey (same with another different modem/router as well). It is necessary to shift around to locate a satisfactory spot.
TTFN.
