1197245 2011-04-26 04:07:00 Lately ive been trying to make my computer run faster and some things have been helping and somethings havent. The first problem i have is that when im playing games on facebook (particularly farmville and frontierville), i little side thing pops on from my norton and says high memory usage by internet explorer. Everyonce in awhile it says high CPU usage but i cant remember what it says its from. I was wondering how i could fix this or what would be wrong with it.
Also if anyone has any tips to help make my computer run faster that would be awesome. I recently just went through and transferred all my music onto cds and deleted them off my computer. Any other tips? because i would like it to run super fast like it used to. Thanks in advance you guys are always such great helpers :)

1197246 2011-04-26 04:59:00 Nortons is probably the cause. Have you installed any toolbars / addons for IE?

Farmville has been known to cause probs with different browsers. It either freezes and has even crashed different browsers. If this is the only site thats got high cpu usage. Not much you can do about it. Dont play farmville. Whats running in startup? Post a hjt log. We'll see whats on it

1197247 2011-04-26 09:39:00 Just the google toolbar. And it happens mostlywhen im on farmville but on occassion it happens when im just simply on facebook and it even happened when i was on microsoft excel. That might have been the one when it said high cpu (not sure though)
How do i get a hjt log so i can post it up?

1197248 2011-04-26 09:43:00 Get this install run it (free.antivirus.com). Click on scan the system and save a log. Copy and paste it here Speedy Gonzales (78)

1197251 2011-04-26 11:07:00 okay i did that. now what eberry09 (16219)
1197252 2011-04-26 11:23:00 Thats it , are you still getting high CPU usage. If you are with IE, try another browser. See if it does the same thing. if it does, its probably the site. You cant do anything about it, if it is. Till FB fix it Speedy Gonzales (78)
1197253 2011-04-26 11:31:00 would firefox be a better browser than internet explorer? eberry09 (16219)
1197254 2011-04-26 11:42:00 I suppose all browsers have high ram usage (depends how many tabs are open). how many addons / toolbars you use.

And how it caches whatever so it goes faster. FF and Opera do the same thing.

Thats probably a side affect (of what they do) to make it go faster. Altho, its usually fast here, I dont know what the diff is
