1197379 2011-04-29 10:53:00 All good.

Basically once you've got ROM Manager, you follow the steps from before ^

1) Get root
2) Get ROM Manager
3) Use ROM Manager to install ClockworkMod (Recovery)
4) Copy CyanogenMod & Gapps .zip files to the root of your SD Card
5) Reboot into Recovery
6) Flash the CM7 then Gapps .zip files
7) Factory reset
8) Reboot into your new CyanogenMod ROM! :)

Exactly.

1197380 2011-04-29 13:48:00 Ok so ive opened rom manager, got a little confused and clicked something which brought up a menu of phone models, couldnt find my model, while in the process i must have selected something. Anyway i tapped install rom from sd card and did that, selected the swift 1.9, got 3 checkboxes to backup, clear data and wipe dalvik cache. Selected them all the phone appeared to do something then restarted, nothings changed so i suspect im missing something or doing something wrong...... aidanmaz (7180)
1197381 2011-04-29 23:08:00 Try again? Note your exact steps down so you can ask if things do go pear-shaped, or, try and find a guide with pictures ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
1197382 2011-04-29 23:47:00 done it 5 times, the fzip file im using is valid, it restarts but doesnt go into recovery, am i supposed to do it myslef without the Rom Manger doing it? aidanmaz (7180)
1197383 2011-04-30 00:55:00 Did you install ClockworkMod Recovery first? That's the bit that does the heavy lifting for ROM Manager; if you're missing that you won't get anywhere.

Judging by your last few posts you're not following the instructions you've been given - this makes it rather difficult to help, especially when you don't tell us what you did instead. Please just stick to the steps you've been given - if you are confused then let us know where you're stuck and ask for clarification rather than guessing.

Ok. so I've done Step1 using z4root, downloaded Step2. As for Step3, To install clockwork mod i seem to have gotten lost, After opening the ROM Manager, i scrolled down but i tapped All ClockworkMod Recoveries (at the bottom) on accident, which asked if i wanted to install what i ASSUMED was the Mod Recovery. then it brought up a list of phones, which mine wasnt in there, so i think that threw me. I've done 4, SwiftDroid_v1.9_recovery.zip is on the root of my SD. So if i can get help to fix where i have gone wrong, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying, I guess im not fully understanding. Sorry

You need the very first item on the screen once you start ROM Manager - this should be labelled "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery", and is located immediately above the "Reboot into Recovery" item. I did tap that out of desperation but was prompted by a version choice so i left it. il give it a bash later wen i get home from work as its requesting internet access, and i dont want to waste my monthly mobile limit, will update post wen ive tried.

No wonder you were confused, the instructions we gave you didn't match what your phone required!
