1161987 2010-12-16 01:56:00 Hope they lock it down well. There are people like me out there, although I've just had to reflash my N810 so there's going to be a bit of downtime while I set it up again. ubergeek85 (131)
1161988 2010-12-16 02:26:00 Sounds like there could be quite a bit of fun to be had... Agent_24 (57)
1161989 2010-12-16 03:45:00 We live ~100m to a Mcdonalds. Here's hoping! pine-o-cleen (2955)
1161990 2010-12-16 04:18:00 Would you like fries with your wifi :D

Might have to try it once its up and going, Mackers is only just down the road, bound to see some people sitting outside if the range is OK with laptops

Good marketing though, stay and buy more food.

Try a high power card like an Alfa and a directional Wok\Can-tenna.... might get lucky... IF you have line of sight, I guess.

1161992 2010-12-16 04:55:00 If they use the same security/ hardware base as the aussie stuff i'm in for a treat.

So many loop holes, so much to abuse. I managed to sneak an ubuntu .iso over torrents while I was over there. I informed the counter staff (dunno why though) and one of them said whats a torrent, the guy behind her says, where I get all my movies :p

Did it mostly to see if it would work and I have no intention of wilfully abusing the McD's wireless in new zealand.

So, could I use something like this (www.trademe.co.nz) and extend the aerial?

I can physically see the roof of mcdonalds and line of sight it is less than 100m away. If I look from the side of the house I can see most of the back wall of the building.
