| 1197907 | 2011-04-28 05:10:00 | Does the router show that the DSL and Internet is green litted up? Is she using a telephone extension cord? I do on mine, still gets a respectable speed under ADSL2+ but can take a while to connect. If so, she could use a network cable extension cable or just use WIFI while the router is placed near a telephone jack. |

| 1197908 | 2011-04-28 05:21:00 | Thanks for your reply Nomad. I would need to check with her re her connections. However, I do know that all was fine until yesterday. All lights on the router are working as they should be and the router shows as being connected when checking network connections. I suspect that it may be a setting in the router that may have been somehow changed. Yesterday she was trying to configure her email programme on a recnetly purchased laptop. As she had forgotten her passwors she rang he ISP and reset it. I wonder if this has had something to do with it it? | smurf (6545) | ||

You need to update the ISP password in the router software with the new password. Maybe if you type the following in the web browser software 192.168.1.1 You need to know the router's login name and the password. |

| 1197910 | 2011-04-28 06:56:00 | It could be aLAN IP address conflict if there is more than one wireless apparatus connected. We had that issue as two of our machines were fighting over the same internal ip address. Look in the router config and see if you can assign ip addresses per device / mac address. I did that and had no more issues. | Jester (13) | ||

Maybe if you type the following in a web browser 192.168.1.1 to access your router settings You need to know the router's login name and login password (usually (by default) admin/admin). Fixed it for ya! You should then change your internet connection password to the new one, save and exit. www.imagef1.net.nz (This image is from my Netcomm settings page). |

| 1197912 | 2011-04-28 10:17:00 | I would be willing to bet she's confusing "Being connected via WiFi to the router" with "being online". There will be several lights on the front of the router. Get her to restart the router, then wait for 90 seconds. After that, write down ALL of the lights (Their exact name) and what they're doing (eg on / off / flashing slow and steady, flashing erratically but quickly). |

| 1197914 | 2011-04-29 01:59:00 | Hey guys. If this doesn't work, if it's a newish computer. I had the same problem with someone else's computer and it turned out to be a trial version of Norton 360 (which came preloaded) had created a block because they hadn't subscribed. If she has this installed, also try removing this. | dpDesignz (15919) | ||
