1197635 2011-04-27 06:11:00 It looks like some sort of DDR2-533 module but there should be some more numbers before the PC2-.... bit which would tell you what size it is. CYaBro (73)

Yes but what does each number between the hyphens indicate?

1197638 2011-04-27 08:57:00 Probably part of the model number.

What brand is it? Do you have a photo of it?

1197639 2011-04-27 14:12:00 The pc2-4200 means it's ddr2-533.
No idea about the s-444-12.
The c3 is probably the Cas latency.

1197640 2011-04-27 15:50:00 Can't help with the actual ID of the chip

But every time I read this I keep seeing "Sodium Identification"

How to ID sodium? bucket of water should do the trick :D might even work for sodimm soo

4200 - the type, DDR2-533.
444-12, probably timings.
c3 latency.

Does it matter? The only thing you need to worry about is what type it is, if you want to add more.

1197642 2011-04-27 21:07:00 Some boards\RAM don't like it if you mix latencies... Agent_24 (57)
