| 1164292 | 2010-12-22 20:02:00 | So driving to work and this driver in a 4x4 decides that since the lane is merging and I am on the outside a good car lenght in front, this is the perfect time to floor it to make it impossible for me to get in...... To make it worse when the road merges you run out of lane very quickly on this road so my outside wheels hit the gravel as I had no-where to go, and it was sheer luck that I managed to recover it and pull in behind. Next chance I got I changed lanes and went past this menace on the road and caught the number plate as I did. This 4x4 followed me all the way to work and parked in the work car park and one of me collegues got out gave me the dirtiest look and went inside. I followed her in and told her if I ever saw her drive like that again I would report her to the cops, low and behold 2 mins of shouting later and "I" get a letter "inviting" me to a meeting on the first day after my holiday, oh and I may bring a support person. FML Now you know what it feels like to be sentenced to hang, when you didn't do it. I have had the feeling once or twice. |

| 1164298 | 2010-12-22 20:57:00 | You could just decline the invitation ... respectfully of course. Or do you work for an organisation where "invitation" means it's a "summons" and you get in deep Doo Doo for not accepting ?? | SP8's (9836) | ||

FML Make sure you sit down and write out EXACTLY what occurred on the road so you have some firm evidence of why you did what you did. Probably wouldn't hurt to lay a complaint about the driving with the Police too. You can do so here: forms.police.govt.nz There will be no ramifications for your colleague with the Police other than she might get a letter from the Police and there will be a record of the report on her driving record (in case she does something as stupid again and gets caught). I was:eek: hung, so unable to reply. Well hung, I trust... :D |

| 1164300 | 2010-12-22 21:10:00 | Yeah a "invitation" cannot be declined. My boss might even fly over for it........ There is no point reporting it to the cops, I doubt they care what happened to facilitate it, it was the shouting that caused the issue. |
