Router I bought didn't come with one (should've read the auction more carefully) and I only have 9/12v ones lying around. Happy to pay whatever its worth + postage. Failing that, a trip to DickSmith is in order...

Cheers.

Its for my ASUS WL-520gu router, so this size (dl.dropbox.com).

Do you think being 1v over cause any issues? Probably a silly question but... ?

1163512 2010-12-20 05:07:00 Its probably better being higher than lower. This is what the plug on this looks like Speedy Gonzales (78)
1163513 2010-12-20 05:10:00 Cool -- Plug with Hand :p

Edited:

If you get really stuck, I do have one with those spec's -- Comes with a D-link 704P Router -- never used ( bad model/batch, well out of warranty)

1163514 2010-12-20 05:30:00 Cool that looks like the one Speedy.
Just to confirm is it 2000amp?

Also how safe would it be to go over... (eyes up the 9v adapter :devil). Jokes but yea, just wondering if I should get the exact voltage to be on the safe side, would be nice if this router lasted a year or 2.

Get the correct voltage. But it would only be 2 amp, not 2000 OMG.

I'd suggest going for the exact voltage in this case. If it was designed for more than 5v I wouldn't worry so much, as it would probably be getting internally regulated to 5v anyway to power the ICs. However as it runs on 5v I would expect there are ICs in there running directly from the 5v, and they may not be as tolerant.

Even if everything inside can tolerate the voltage, it will at best run hotter than it is designed to, which can be a problem with routers.

I don't know where you live but Jaycar have reasonably priced adapters.
