There will be no ramifications for your colleague with the Police other than she might get a letter from the Police and there will be a record of the report on her driving record (in case she does something as stupid again and gets caught).

Yes, do lay a formal complaint, it backs up the reasons for your 'discussion' with the co-worker, but it is never ever wise to have a slanging match on company premises and on company time.

However, if it was on your own time (and it should be unless you were late for work) you may be able to argue that they can only complain about having your disagreement on company premises, and assuming you gave as good as you got and didn't say anything truly offensive, then you should both be treated exactly the same.

Do not attend the meeting on your own, but make sure to take a rational and clear thinking friend or associate. They do not have to be a company employee and in fact it helps if they are not, they can say things an employee might be afraid to voice.

At times like this I wish more people realised the true value of being a Union Member. It is excellent and very cheap insurance, and you never know when you might need it. I have been successful in every case I've taken up in recent years and I don't even practice employment law professionally any more.

Cheers

"Rational and clear thinking" advice from both Billy and Johcar.

Hope this works out for you, DeSade. I used to have a Manager like that once. If there was any nasty work to be done, he'd leave it until the last minute to drop the bombshell. Then he'd disappear for the weekend or an overseas trip. In your case, it's leaving the matter unresolved until when you return after the break. Whatever, try not to dwell on it over the break. Cheers.

Why? Does hitman (forums.pcworld.co.nz) need to go to a wedding too? :D

1164318 2010-12-23 02:03:00 My mate had this happen to him so often with cars cutting him off he got one of those video cameras for bike handle bars and mounted it to his dashboard.
People seem to believe you more when you have video.

Should keep her off the road for a few days :D

But seriously, if I was you, I would file a complaint on the above form on the police website, sure it's not much, but it lets the cops know, if they happen to get a few more then that might goad them into writing a letter or two.

Or you could just buy some Z-nails and.... you get the idea.
