1198949 2011-05-03 17:57:00 Is this (www.technicolorbroadbandpartner.com) the one you are looking for? It has the latest firmware here (download.modem-help.co.uk) notechyet (4479)
1198950 2011-05-03 23:27:00 Doesn't look like the firmware is any better than the old one, they've put some new graphics on but the layout is still the same (really stupid)

One can hope they maybe fixed the bugs....

I tried downloading a new firmware for my ST536v6 from that Modem-Help site, but it wouldn't flash saying it was wrong (no doubt as the current one is customized for Telecom, the OEM firmware won't load)

It's the next revision of the Telecom TG series -- Telecom just erased Thomson's logo and added its logo. Where we are, they just gave us a "business router" for our DSL. It's got the 2wire logo as well as the Telecom logo.

1198952 2011-05-04 00:14:00 Be carefull upgrading firmware opn TELECOM supplied modems
Dont assume it will work unless you get the new firmware from Telecoms site
I have trashed one of their old Dlinks that way.

Im pretty sure Telecom modems have a back door to give them access to it remotely

1198953 2011-05-04 00:17:00 Really? I upgraded one of the DSL302G with standard firmware and it still worked just fine... gave me a much better user interface too ;)

I would upgrade from Telecom except they don't offer any for that router, although on Modem-Help there are newer versions.

On one forum I read that the TG series of modems are sold directly to ISPs. I think they're given a kit or something to load their custom FW on, as they come blank (I think)

1198955 2011-05-04 01:03:00 That makes sense though, and probably explains why half the features are broken on the Telecom ones  Agent_24 (57)
1198956 2011-05-04 01:35:00 To be fair, the Telecom modems are aimed at a 'plug 'n go market and that is exactly what they do. No more adding usernames/passwords, wireless security, VCI, VPI, DHCP, DNS etc. Must have cut helpline calls dramatically.

There are plenty of purchase options for more demanding users.

1198957 2011-05-04 01:58:00 Maybe, but it wouldn't be hard for them to fix the firmware\web interface so you could actually change your DHCP address pool settings

It's not that you can't change them, it's that any IP address gets rejected as invalid, and you must reconfigure manually through a manually edited configuration file.

Port Forwarding also doesn't work, UPnP does, but if you try to run a program that doesn't support UPnP, nothing doing.

You can try to manually port forward, but it doesn't work. And it assigns ports based on Hostname instead of IP (WTF)

Also there is no option to map MAC to IP, only Hostname to IP (again, WTF)
