| 1198859 | 2011-05-04 00:32:00 | Asrock would be in the same league as ESC - budget / cheap. One place I used to work at, the manager tried Asrock on the budget builds. From 3 different shipments, there was a 50% failure rate. While that was a few years ago - bad reps stick like mud. One repair build I had to do last year, Asrock was the only board available at the time that would take the customers CPU and RAM. I would have preferred Gigabyte, but none available. Had two DOA's and returned before I finally got one to work. I agree with Pctek's comments - and helensun - not bad luck ?? , poor quality boards I suspect. |

| 1198861 | 2011-05-04 02:45:00 | Dont go believing all the "reports" about certain products, its proven time and time again, real life experiences are often different to "tests Reports". Personally I'd rather believe people who actually have hands on experience than some report. As i mentioned I Had to use an Asrock last year - two DOA's in a row, both different models ?????? Yeah real good.:p Maybe their higher end Boards are OK, bit like HP's, the "basic value stuff" has a bad rep in some cases, yet the higher end equipment is far more reliable. |

When they start improving the quality and they stop having a high failure rate then I'll start recommending them. You think it's just personal preference? I have always made a point of noticing the fails - where-ever I have been, not just my own business, I won't use or recommend the nasty stuff and make no apologis for saying so. |
