| 1164588 | 2010-12-27 22:17:00 | Just copy the Steam Apps folder across. The other computer may need to go online to claim 'ownership' of the apps. Yep I used that method to get it off my C drive, but backed it all up to a portable hard drive for the purposes of transferring to another PC and that worked. Given the awful weather here, going to take the plunge and upgrade my PC's to 64 bit Windows 7 today (32 bit at the moment). I've been holding out but looks like the time has come to make the move. It's a pain backing up and make sure don't lose things like games but looks like Steam isn't going to be a problem. |

| 1164589 | 2010-12-27 22:19:00 | Yes. But it isn't 100% reliable, sometimes the games end up broken... But it works most of the time. Steam -> Backup I have read a bit on the net in the last hour and certainly doesn't look flawless. Seems if you don't live in an approved country you can not get the results you expect either. |

| 1164591 | 2010-12-30 04:36:00 | There have been some great game bargains in the Steam sale, the only problem is the bandwidth downloading the games is eating up my monthly allocation at a rapid rate. However in some cases they are almost giving the games away when you'd still pay a reasonable price for them in a New Zealand store. http://store.steampowered.com/ And Merry Xmas all.
