I haven't done chat since MSN was beta-testing in 1995. My wife needs a chat venue where comments are tagged by people names (must be real names not userids) and where the stuff can be copied and pasted for future reference.
It needs to be more sort of live/online than a forum thread.
It's for a live online collaborative thing at university. Doesn't have to be totally private, content not really confidential, just don't want randoms offering products to enlarge certain organs or nigerians in it.
Ideally something that doesn't need some software installed or anything tricky. These are arts students, not sciences.
Any easy suggestions?

1200947 2011-05-10 00:24:00 Most people probably dont use real names, they use nicks. Only place you may find real names is sites like FB, and whatever other social networking sites are around. Theres not much else around, if you dont want to install software Speedy Gonzales (78)

1200949 2011-05-10 02:58:00 Are they something easy enough to get up and running? It's not a long term need and not sure they will ever need it beyond about a month from now.
They were whinging about having to refresh to see other's responses. Hence something like a facebook group wasn't considered good enough.

All you need is one person with the skills to set it up then send the details to the others.
