| 1165401 | 2010-12-29 04:41:00 | I have just bought the PC World mag and was bemused to read = PlayTV for Playstation 3 launches Sony's PlayTV, a recording device that can be run in conjunction with a Playstation 3, launches next week. Siobhan Keogh | Thursday, November 18 2010 PlayTV connects to the PS3 via a USB cable and features a 13 day programming guide. Perhaps I'm missing some thing here but it only shows about 2 hours of programmes not 13 day programming guide. |

Imported ones (UK) like my son has need a "key" payment around $15 to free up for Freeview. The ones that are purchased in NZ have a 13day guide as part of the purchase price. Ken |

| 1165403 | 2010-12-30 01:00:00 | That story was written and sent off before it came to light that Mediaworks' listings weren't going to be in the 13 day programming guide. There's still 13 days for all the other listings, you'll notice. I know this because I've used it myself. | Siobhan Keogh (16063) | ||

Mediaworks owned by Sky - Sky are just the pits when it comes to dealing in any way with them. They are doing the same to Tivo. TVNZ should refuse to supply TV1 and TV2 for them to re-transmit until they do a Guide that works. That is the only way that pressure can be put on them as then they couldn't advertise (sic) "Sky shows it all - no need for a freeview tuner" Sorry to go on, but Sky get right up my left nostril :punk Not Siobhan's fault they are a bunch of w*****s Ken |

Ken Thanks Ken I bought mine of trademe someone in Christchurch a few months ago so it might have come from the UK? I did the "key" payment around $15 to free up for Freeview . So I have just reset it all up again lost all the programmes recorded no big deal, and I now have all the TVNZ listings but nothing from Prime etc as already said . Not Siobhan's fault they are a bunch of w*****s (No just greedy) I have mysky which i would like stop as its expensive and most of the stuff we record is on freeview . |

I am not interested in a lot of stuff on Sky . I had it for many years and had a big argument with them a year ago and ended up getting rid of it . I never have missed it but SWMBO asked me to hook it up again in October - which I did . Found that it was the same old, same old, with very poor quality compared with Freeview where the SD quality seems better than Sky's HD . Also had the same problem I had a year ago where the godamn thing resets to the preview channel when trying to record 2 programs on different channels) one after another . Gave up and put it to sleep until the contract expires in October 2011 which was the cheapest way out . Have just purchased the Blu-ray version of "Great Migrations" which was advertised as being something like " . . . crystal clear digital HD . . . . " when advertised of Sky but was shown in SD on the National Geographic Channel . It cost me $26 at Whitcoulls on special . The quality is breathtaking!!! It is cheaper to do that than subscribe to SKY . :punk SkyTV Ken |
