I freely admit to the fact that as an olde dog, I am rather set in my way so this is a tough - nay: impossible pill to swallow . The old 'pound key' or 'pound sign' (US-pound, not UK-ish 'pound') has always been that little symbol that lives on the lower right extremity of the push button phone face . # it is, and # it will stay to me . But NO-O-O-O! Now they call it an 'octothorpe' - the operative here is the 'octo' part . Where's the eight? I only see four, not eight somethings to it anywhere, and that includes intersections, lines or pen strokes . |

We call it the hash key here, this is our pound key £ (or lb. if we're talking old weight measures). :) Always wondered what you guys were talking about when saying "press the pound key". |

Wet . Got a biggie coming in maybe tonight if the weather-guessers got it right . With the temps below freezing overnight from the clear skies that don't hold the ground heat, we could experience slow-molecule precipitate by sunrise . I'm going down to look at a new bass today (pix below) before it (the weather) breaks loose and I need to install my tire chains to get back up the hill to my home . |
