I used another one of my XP licenses to get it in, and somehow I forgot how much fun it is to clean install everything again on formatted hdds . Prolly more than 150 Updates after I used the CD to re-write the whole OPSYS with SP2, and then there's SP-3 and a slug of Hotfixes, Updates and of course, the famous Windows/M$ qualifier to make sure it's not pirated software (it's NOT) . Then security stuff, and building a new Google/Firefox browser and the personas and the add-ons and ---- it goes on and on . Is Win8 gonna be any easier? (DO NOT EVEN MENTION L-ANYTHING!) |

I'd say if you've got a good machine get 7 If you've got an older machine stick with XP Old machines go with old software New machines go with new software. That was my motto in the 80's and 90's when I sold PC's (and made 2 grand on each one) |
