| 1165299 | 2010-12-29 18:32:00 | ANGRY blondes - sure! I look at the CTS and the Escalades and just wonder how they can afford the insurance payments! I drive a 1989 Isuzu Amigo and a 1986 Chevy K5 Blazer, but the wife has an 8-passenger 2000 Chevy Astro van. The 4WD is handled by the K5 and the Isuzu is off-road friendly as I don't need to worry about deep snow (not arrived yet) and mud (got that in spades!) and the Astro is more than sufficient for all times in between. As you can see - I am not driven by the Ugly American Credo - buy new, play with it until it's boring and get a different new one next week. |

| 1165300 | 2010-12-29 18:40:00 | The trick with the Morgan was/is quite common with all those Euro-trashmobiles (particularly the Lucas infested ones). Before you can get them tested on corners, you have to get them going. The cornering aptitude was neccessary for the frequent urgent turns required into repair establishments from roads liberally coated in dripped oil. I had a neighbor with a lather-strap on 'bonnet' (hood) and 'boot' (trunk) cover Morgan - and he asked me the best way to get a really good oil change for his engine. Maybe it was a 1957 or so - pretty though. The windscreen (windshield) might've been held on with leather straps. I dunnow. I'm pretty sure the engine (engine) was held in that way too. I told him to make sure it was well warmed up first to help the impurities to drain with the hot oil. He looked at me like I was crazy. "How am I supposed to do THAT? I can't keep it running that long to get it that hot!" I missed the opportunity to tell him a small fire under the engine then might be of binary-assistance. |
