You should thank them, The tax take from tobacco sales far exceeds the cost of smoking related illness. and if they fall off their perch before their time as they are meant to, they save the tax payers a bucket more dosh by spending five years or so less on the old age benefit. |

Obviously they don't but we (non-smokers) can smell it few meters away. They really stink! Can't bear with it. |

I can't stand the smell of alcohol seeping out of every pore in the body and the convolutions the body goes through to rid itself of the poison is sad to see. Lets have a look at some drinking facts just for the non-smoking wholesome hypercritical purists. At least 25% of New Zealand drinkers are heavy drinkers A third of all police apprehensions involve alcohol Half of serious violent crimes are related to alcohol 60 different medical conditions are caused by heavy drinking Up to 75% of adult presentations at Emergency Departments on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are alcohol-related Over 300 alcohol-related offences every day Over 500 serious and fatal injury traffic crashes every year At least 600 children born each year with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder Over 1000 alcohol deaths in New Zealand every year 17,000 years of life per year are lost through alcohol But, figures and statistics such as these do not adequately capture the misery, pain and loss that many New Zealand families suffer as a result of excessive alcohol use. However, they go some way in describing the awkward truth – alcohol is causing considerable damage to our society. |

I put a car into a power pole once, Boozed as a mother****er, The booze wasn't at fault.No charges were laid against the booze, and the booze didn't get a day in court, Nor did the booze contribute a cent towards the fines and reparation. |

Good one this what smokers want to see they dont have to quit until the alcohol problem is sorted. People like you indirectly kill smokers. Alcohol in moderation is healthy and no problem, smokes kill you. |
