| 1200016 | 2011-05-07 11:41:00 | Dial-a-fix also has a critical unpatched bug that will delete your C:\Documents folder. As Jen asked "What OS has a C:\Documents folder instead of C:\Documents and Settings folder", I've used dial a fix hundreds of times over the years and its NEVER done any harm what so ever. If quotes are going to be posted, posted FULL quote not bits. If you have a Documents folder in your C:\ drive (as C:\Documents) this folder and anything inside (such as C:\Documents\Reports) will be deleted due to a critical, unpatched bug. NOTE it says IF you have a documents folder, I suspect that means one you created yourself, XP which is as high as dial a fix goes Dial-a-fix does not work with any Windows OS higher than Windows XP. This includes Windows Vista, Windows 7. does not have a documents folder, its documents and settings - two completely different folders. But just to throw a fright in the works -- Ccleaner also has a bug, that will wipe out important reg keys and still does as of 3.05 cleaner bug report (forum.piriform.com) Post #7 |
