1199658 2011-05-06 01:20:00 Just to be clear (no pun intended) :)

The Internet works fine

The web mail via their site - you can log in and see any mails etc ?

wai, it's no fun when things have worked just fine for years.

As mentioned earlier, have logged into Clear and the same response, cursed for/next loop, thought they went out with Basic programming.

Found the TelstaClear online talk facility, you guessed it, one has to phone when dealing with passwords. (as if we would keep the same one, lol as Forest Gump would say (stupid is as ****).

Will have lunch before we ring, as it will probably be teatime before I get a real person.

Thanks folks.

Nomad, yes been with Clear for 7 years, on Paradise prior to that.

GMail is another secondary email provider coming through to Outlook Express.

As said earlier Outlook Express has been running faithfully for years.

1199661 2011-05-06 02:58:00 Thanks folks.

TelstraClear reset my password at their end.

So how would that get c**ked up at their end.

Only 42 emails downloaded, so that's not too bad for a Friday.

1199662 2011-05-06 04:59:00 Thats one thing they have never managed to explain.

Had it a few times with customers, we call Telstra ( or extra if they are with them or who ever their ISP is) Tell them to check the password.
You give the "known Password" to the person you are talking to, they say it works at their end, yet doesn't when trying normally via the mail program or web based ???
Reset the password and alls well and working again ----- one of those things I spose.

1199665 2011-05-08 03:55:00 There have been cases where Google Chrome had been installed and then removed, taking one of the library (dll) files required by Outlook with it.
If this is the case, reinstalling Chrome should fix it.
