Very innovative .

But not twice the distance . At best this will give a gain of about 5 . 5 - 6 dBi . A basic Wifi antenna is about 2 . 8 dBi . So it will give you a gain near 3dB . Thats twice the power in a horizontal direction (at the cost of power in the vertical direction but thats usually no biggie unless you have a 2 story dwelling) .

So twice the power will give only 40% additional distance (less through walls) .

If the measurements are not the same as the designed antenna then there will be a mismatch reducing the output power and possibly stuffing your transmitter stage of your wifi router . The quarter wavelenght of the original little antenna is about 29mm so getting the length wrong by a few mm or the inductor (the coil bit) wrong (diameter of coil, distance between coils, or number of coils) can have a detrimental effect on the router . So do be careful with the measurements .
